AMERICAN RECIPROCITY.

ANTI-RECIPROCITY MANIFESTO. ATTITUDE OF SENATOR ALDRICH [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION —COI YEIGHT.] OTTAWA, Feb. 21 A number of leading Liberals at Toronto have issued a statement opposing the tariff reciprocity agreement. They state that they object to the agreement 'chiefly on the ground that reciprocity will strengehen the ties of Canada with the United States, and enable the latter, when Canada becomes filled with a large foreign population, to exert an enormous pressure in favour of annexation. NEW YORK, Feb. _ 21.—Senator Aldrich favours the reciprocity agreement with Canada.

It is not yet known, however, whether Senator Aldrich is returning from a holdiday which he is spending in Georgia, in order to aid the reciprocity bill to pass the Senate. President Taft, presumably considering the situation serious, has appealed to Senator Aldrich to use his influence with Senators to favourably deal with the measure.
