SYDNEY', Feb. 21.—Denmead and Mace, the Darlinghurst gaol-breakers were charged here to-day with stealing and entering. They were sentenced each to live years’ hard labour on the charge of gaol-breaking, and an additional twelve months on the other charges; the sentences to bo concurrent. A brother of Denmead was sentenced to six months on a charge of receiving the stolen goods. BENEFICIAL RAINS IN N.S.W. SYDNEY, Feb. 21.—There are now further general heavy rains. Feed for stock is plentiful everywhere. The outlook for the winter is exceptionally good. JAPANESE SENTENCED FOR MANSLAUGHTER.
