DIVORCE CASE.

AN IMPORTANT POINT. [BY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL TO THE STAR.] CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. During Hie hearing of a divorce action at the Supreme Court yesterday morning counsel for the respondent raised in defence u contention that there had been connivance on the part of the woman s husband. His Honor Mr Justice Denniston said that in such cases it was desirable that the Court should be given all the facts of the case, and he suggested that the respondent should give evidence. The woman agreed to do so, and his Honor added that as she had been for the assistance of the Court, though her evidence might assist her own case, the woman should not be penalised any more than was necessary. He, therefore, made an order forbidding the publication of any reports of the woman’s evidence.
