NEW METHODIST CHURCH.
LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE,
The ceremony in connection with the laying of the foundation stone of the new Methodist Church on Friday afternoon next, promises to be an event unique in the annals of Greymouth. Right Worshipful Bro. J H. Harkness, Provincial Grand Master, will perform the ceremony of laying one stone on behalf of the New Zealand Grand Lodge of Freemasons. The Greymouth Lodges as well as brethren from other parts of the Coast will also assist in the ceremony. His Worship the Mayor, A. C. Russell, Esq., who will be supnorted by the Borough Councillors, will lay another stone. Given fine weather, the ceremony will be both impressive and interesting, and should attract a large concourse of people. The guests are to be entertained at a banquet at the close of the ceremony. In the evening at 8 n.m. a grand conversazione will be held, to which everybody is invited. The Hon. A. R. Guinness will preside. Admission Is.
