THE DRUIDIC CONFERENCE
A WEST COASTER ELECTED TO THE EXECUTIVE.
[by telegraph—special to the star.]
AUCKLAND, This Day. The biennial Druids’ Conference was concluded yesterday. It was resolved, by a majority of one vote, that a fund be established to provide a Druids’ Orphanage. It was decided that the Executive bring up a report to place the special funeral fund on a sound footing, to be approved by the Government Registrar.
The West Coast members determined to fight for a representative on the Board, and nominated Bro. Tennent, of Greymouth, as a member of the Executive and Grand Guard, and they worked with a united will and placed the matter so fully before the representatives as to the justice of the matter that out of nine candidates Bro. Tennent secured a majority of votes and was elected, this being the first member of the Executive selected from the Coast.
The Grand Lodge will meet at Marton in 1913.
