At Riccarton this morning, the ploughed track provided fast going, but a hot norwester made conditions unpleasant. Boanerges had Polymorphous well beaten at the end of six furlongs, the last five of which were run in 1,3. Madam Madcap ran a. mile nicely in 1.45 3-5. Formhy and Birkdale took 51secs for four furlongs; Bollin and Morecambe ,49 4-5. They all had the wind behind them. Penates, Gold Bird, Naimai and Hydrant arrived yesterday and were given half to steady pacing.
