charlotteT fell. We regret to record the death at the •mara Hospital ysstesday afternoon o' Miss Charlotte Fell, daughter of Mr Frederick Fed, of Otira. Deceased was admitted to the Hospital about ten days ago and her condition was then serious. Mm was only eighteen years of ago. The parents- and relatives will have the sineve sympathy of the community in their We regret to have to record the death yesterday of Michael Burns, one of the oldest and best respected diggers that has resided in the Maori Gully district since the very early clays of mining on the West Coast. Mr Burns, senior, was one of those far seeing men that he male sure cf getting a good supply of water for his work and in company with Francis Malone and others he laid out and cut the water race known as Burns’ ever since, which has been and in fact still is the subject of some litigation. It is only a few weeks ago that Mr Win. Burns brought his father to town for medical attendance and he has seen that everything that could be done for his father was done, and clone well. Besides this son William the late Mr Burns leaves a mar ried daughter in Wellington, to mourn the loss of a genuine colonist and g cd father.
