PERSONAL NOTES.

Mr A. A. Johnson, F.R.C.V.S. (Government Veterinarian) is at present on a visit to Greymonth, having arrived from Christchurch last night. Dr W. J. Barclay, M.D., of Thames, has been appointed medical superintendent of the Southland Hospital. Dr Barday is a nephew of Mrs T. N. Griffin, Methodist Parsonage, Greymonth.

Mr John Pollard, who has been on the reporting staff of the Lyttelton Times for a number of years, has been promoted to the position of sporting editor of the Canterbury Times, which duties lie will enter upon on Monday morning. We cordially wish him success in In's new career and also desire to congratulate his father, Mr Tom Pollard, on possessing so talented a son.
