MELBOURNE, This Day.—ln the Federal House of Representatives, during consideration of the Land Tax Bill, Mr Hughes moved an amendment fixing the under-valuation at 25 per centum below the value fixed by the Commission. Under such circumstances the Commonwealth might require the land at twenty-five per centum, pus ten per centum, irrespective of whether the under valuation was intentional or not. Mr Foster pointed out that in New Zealand, before this clause was abandoned, the market became inflated. The amendment was carried. ADVERTISING AUSTRALIA.
