WELLINGTON, May 21. The standing committee of the Secondary Schools Association, waited on the Minister of Education to-day to bring mdor 1 1 is notice tiie question of the re•iresontalion of secondary schools on tlie 1 ’niversity Senate, with a, view of securing the co-operation between parties. In i 1 ic matter of examinations tlie Question arose at the late Secondary Schools’ Conference. It was pointed out by the dcnitalion that the University rchentc, cspecially in science and (hcinistry exams., was much behind the times. They desired to make matriculation continuous for free place exams. 'l’he Minister, in reply, said that while he was sympathetic he was not quite aide to say whether the matter was of sufficient urgency as to demand special legislation. he believed that it would he in (he best interests of education and would strengthen the Senate if representatives in close touch with secondary education were appointed. If any amendments were made in the University Act he would give liis assistance.
