Old soldiers who have claims pending against the Government have long awaited the announcement that so ate procedure would be availabe by which the matter could be finally determined. It has already been stated that a number of Stipendiary Magistrates will be asked to hear claims. The Justice Department has completed it s arrangements but awaits the preparation by the Lands Department, of extracts from old pensions and grants. This work involves a good deal of search and when complete it will be a valuable aid to the Magistrates who hear the claims. It is expected that i the preliminaries for action will be j complete by the end of the week.
