the animal meeting of this Club was held last night in the Socialists’ Hall, Hospital Street, about forty ladies and gentlemen being present. Mr W. E. Reynolds, captain, occupied the chair. Ihe Secretary (Mr Yates) submitted the annual report, which has already been published, also the balance sheet, which showed a credit balance of £49 13s lid. both of which were dnlv adopted, and a healty vote of t-hniiks was accorded to the retiring officers and committee. A special vote of thanks was passed in Mr A. B. Harper, who has taken up his residence in Christchurch, and will only occasionally visit the Coast,. Reference was made to the fact that Mr Harper had been one of the promoters of the Club, had ailed as the first Captain for several years, and had since then been a very
active member of the Committee. A special vote of thanks was passed to him for Ids past services and the hope expressed that he would often he met on the links. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. I lie following were the officers elected for the ensuing year :—Captain, Mr TV. F. Reynolds; Treasurer. Mr D. Carter: Secretary. .Mr (’. \\ . Vales; CommitteeMessrs d. (Sillies, B. Harper. T. Thomas, <M. Ben/oni and W. M. Lewis. I.adies. Captain. Mrs K. ,J. Thomas; .secretary. Miss Kettle; Committee-Mes dames \\ , E. 1 hernias and Lewis. It was decided that the ladies be per mitted to play on Saturdays, and the Cum in it tee was insli tided to make arrangements for the opening day of the season.
