[BY TELEOR4VH—PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] FATAL ACCIDENT. AUCKLAND, This Day. John Saunders, a wharf labourer, who was injured by a bag of sugar falling on him while working on the cargo steamer Wimmera, died at the Hospital last night. He was a married man, 45 years of age.
F. X. JONES DEAD. NELSON, This Day.— F. N Jones, senior saddler, an old Nelsonian and well-known in Marlborough and West Coast as totalisator and sporting man, died suddenly this morning. This is the third sudden death of well-known old local residents in a week. A GOOD BUILDING. DUNEDIN, This Day.-- The Y.M.C.A. intend calling for tenders immediately for new buildings at an approximate total cost, including equipment and site in Mor.lv I Taco, of £21,000. A CLAIM FOR- DAMAGES AUCKLAND, This Day.—The Arbitration Court dealt with a claim by Lewis Hunter for the recovery of £2BO Is 4d from the Union Company for the loss of his arm while quarter master on their boats. He was awarded £222 9s 4d less £l9O 7s 7d paid into Court.
