PERSONAL NOTES.
Sir Joseph Ward is expected to arrive back in Wellington from England via Canada about October 4th.
Mr M. Houston, the only southern representative chosen to rjay against Ellesmere, arrived from Hokitika by .this morning's train. Mr Adam Wilson, accountant of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, returned to town on Thursday, after a visit to Reefton.
The Hon J. Carroll, Acting Premier has received information that Lord Kitchener has accepted the invitation sent him by the New Zealand Government and will visit New Zealand.
