The Northern Steamship Company’s steamer Pareora, which arrived at eleven o’clock to-night, reports having picked up some of the lifebuoys, which were identified as belonging to the missing Loch Lomond off the Great Barrier. AUCKLAND, This Day. The finding of the Loch Lomond’s lifebuoys appears to confirm the belief in the loss of the vessel. It is stated she was sighted in Cook Strait at her’ due date, battling agaist a heavy cale, and probably she must have got through the Strait, or her buoys could not have drifted on to the Great Barrier. The assumption is that the coal shifted and that she foundered.
