MIL 11. L. MICHEL IN SOUTH WESTLAND.

Mr Michel addressed a largo meeting in the Public Hall, Waitangi, on Wednesday night. Mr J. Cunningham was in Hie chair. Mr. Michel received a. splendid reception, and was frequently applauded. At (lie conclusion of bis address a large number of questions were asked and answered by the candidate. Mr. Alex. Gunn proposed and Mr. J. Wallace seconded the usual vote of thanks, which was carried unanimously. A social and dance took place afterwards, at the conclusion of which Mr. Michel thanked llio ladies and others who had organised this part of the programme. Hearty cheers for Mr. Michel wore given, and the singing of “Auld Lang Sync” terminated the proceedings. A committee is being organised.
