AN OLD WRECK. WELLINGTON, This Day.—The wreck of the Rongitoto, which sank off Jackson’s Head in 1873, was recently visited by a diver in search of the cargo of copper plates which she was supposed to carry. The steamer was found overgrown with kelp, and the engines are in a remarkable state of preservation, but thickly encrusted with submarine growth. No copper was found, but the aftqrhold was found to contain a large quantity of liquor of various sorts. Some was sampled, and found to have improved by submersion, except brandy. No money was discovered in the strongroom, having been removed when the vessel was abandoned.
