It was amended to provide that the total amount of bounties shall bo £500,000, extending over a period of ten years. The maximum expenditure in any one year is not to exceed £75,000. The bonus on fish was reduced from £II,OOO to £0000; on sweetened condoused milk it was raised from J C I to z'l i on powdered milk from tcl to Id; while tho bonus for miscellaneous iferus was raised from £7OOO to £9OOO. Sir Min. Lyne slated that ho proposed to divide the bonus as far ns possible proportionately between the various Stales. Regarding the development of the fishing industry, Sir—Wm. Lyne announced that a New Zealander, possessing a fleet of trawlers, had offered to undertake tho work contemplated. He was inclined to think it might bo desirable to accept, the offer in preference to building a special trawler.
