CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
(To the Editor. Sir,—Recently there has been formed m Greymouth a Society for tho Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They havo appointed an inspector] whom I would recommend to visit the cattle sale yards. It is a disgrace tho manner in which tho beasts' are treated, and, it is thought, this is a matter which tho Society would do well to give its attention to.—Yours, etc. ' HUMANE.
