AUCKLAND, May 21.—At the Supremo Court John Schischka, a merchant, pleaded guilty to unlawfully selling manure to which a false "trade mark" was aoplied, and to applying a false trado description to certain goods. His Honor inflicted a fine of £SOO or in default 12 months' imprisonment. His Honor commented very strongly on the case, and said it was a contemptible fraud to be! committed by a person in the high position in tho commercial world occupied by accused. PRINCE OF WALES' BIRTHDAY. WELLINGTON, May 21.—The Prince of Wales' Birthday, Juno 3rd, which is a bartk holiday by Statute, falls this vcar on Sunday, and is to bo observed by tho banks on Tuesday, June sth, as Whit Monday, Juno 4th, is also a statutory bank holiday.
