Hokitika •• 2227 1946 j Kumara .. 919 "21 Ross • • • • 572 614 In the immediate district round Hokitika, from the south of the Arahura River to the Hokitika River, including Back Creek, Rimu, and Woodstock districts, there are over 2000 souls, an increase of about 30. While the Kokatahi and Arahura districts show increases, Woodstock has held its own, Back Creek and Kamen districts both show decreases. , The Stafford and Goldsborough districts show a drop of about 200 since the nrevious census Five years ago the population figures stood at 797, while the latest returns give a total of 596. • The Dillmanstown district also shows a substantial fall, the figures this year being 337, as against 555, five years ago.
