PREFERENCE TO STRANGERS
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l am somewhat surprised to tuia that the Education Board have followed the bad example set by the Harbour Board, and gone out of their way to give preference to strangers. Surely, among the large number of applicants for board carpenter, some of the local were qualified for the position, or is this another Harbour Board case of helping one s friends. Perhaps, Sir, as a member ot the Board, you can shed some light on the matter. Yours etc.,—
