The Committee appointed for the study of foreign municipal institutions entertained the German Burgomasters at a dinner in London. Lord Avebury presided. King Edward, in response to a telegram of greeting, promised to receive the Burgomasters on Friday. He hoped the visit would bo in every waypleasant and successful. Mr Haldane, speaking in German, described the Kaiser as one who, besides being a great European, was a great man, and had a keen appreciation of peace, commerce and education. The more Britain and Germany ef.mo together the better for both.
