THE SMALLPOX OUTBREAK.

Another mild case of suspected small pox has been discovered this morning in a boarding house at the comer of Montreal and Tuam street. The case with live contacts Avere removed to Bottle Lake Hospital and the place closed for disinfection. Supplies of vaccine ran out but further supplies are expected this afternoon. Blenheim, Jan. 18, It has been ascertained that a female professional nurse named Ellis engaged in a case at Pclorus Avas employed a month ago nursing for chicken pox, Mrs Smith of Christchurcn Avho is uoav a smallpox patient at Bottle Lake. Ellis arrived from Wellington on Thursday last and having been traced to her residence, the health authorities issued instructions to isolate and vaccinate the the family. Ellis since nursing Smith A T isited freely amongst her relations and friends, and prior to Smith developing smallpox was vaccinated and her belongings fumigated. The health department are closely watching developments.
