THE PREMIER’S VISIT TO REEFTON.
(our own correspondent.) Re e eton, This Day. The Right Hon R. J, Seddon arrived by special coach from Westport at 11 o‘ dock lost night accompanied by Mr Colvin M.11.1t., and our County Councillo! s, and was accorded a most hearty race pi ion at Dawson’s .Motel, a very
f largo crowd being present where ho made a very neat speech. Referring among other matters to the obligations of the Imperial Government in securing to South Africa those privileges for labour which would result in that part of the Empire being a good field for the enterprise and settlement of the anglesaxon race, etc. He regretted bis brief stay, hoping at an early date to date to give ns a more lengthy visit. His remarks were received with great applause. After partaking of refreshments Mr Seddon received several deputations who were introduced by Mr Colvin. The County Council urged the pushing forward of the Recfton Iriaiigalina Junction railway and construction of Waitahu railway bridge, the early completion of the road to Maruia Hot Springs and necessary additions to the district hospital. Several other deputations were presented all of which were received.
The Premier left by train this morning for Greymouth.
