LORD HAWKE’S TEAM.

Match against Auckland.

(pbr"peess association.)

Auckland, Dec. 20.

The match against Lord Hawke’s team was resumed, when the wicket was wet and cutting up later in the day, and was on the whole with the batsmen.

The Englishmen carried the total from 241, for 7 wickets to 321. Auckland scored 120 in their first innings, the batting being feeble, the bowling of the Englishmen being too good for the local men, while the fielding was also capital. They had to follow scored only 31 for the loss of six wickets, leaving them to get 170 to avert a one innings defeat. ENGLISHMEN —IST INNINGS. P. F. Warner c Neil bN. Lusk ... 34 C. J.
