The Bisley Meeting
London, July 21. At the Bisley rifle meeting Corporal Ommundsen, of the Queen’s Edinburgh, and Sergeant-Major Burr, first battalion of the Hampshire Regiment, tied for the King’s prize and divided the money.
Ommundsen wetn the medal with a score of 320 points by one point. A New Zealander to the Front. London, July 20.
The Commissioners of 1851 Exhibition awarded the Science medal of £l5O a year to Dr James M'Larin, of New Zealand. The Coronation Oath. Lord Salisbury’s Bill dealing with the King’s declaration omits all reference to the adoration of the Virgin, and introduces the affirmation of the King’s belief in the Protestant religion. It was read the first time in tbe House of Lords
