[by electric telegraph—copyright.] (pee press association.) Boers surprised and Cattle Captured. No Boers for Tasmania. Died from Enteric. Eeceived this day at 9 1 a.m. London, April 23. A patrol of South African Constabulary during the night surprised a party of raiders at Potchefstroom recovering a thousand catile the raiders had looted. Scouts captured Commandant Trirchards big herd of cattle near Eoosenkraal. A number of Boer prisoners have been landed at Bombay. In the Commons Chamberlain stated that owing to the objections stated by Barton voicing the views of the Federal Cabinet, the suggestion to send Boer prisoners to Tasmania will not bo carried out. Private Foreman, New South Wales Mounted Infantry, died of enteric fever aboard the transport Custodian;
