The marching competition was witnassed by a large crowd. Tho results

Woodville—Music 66, marching 269; total, 335. New Plymouth—Music 06, marching 265 ; total 331. Palmcrston North—Music 66, marching 259; total 325. Ma3terton —Music 74, marching 243 : total 322. Petonc—Music 75, marching 244; total 319. The contest concluded to-night. The result of tho Championship is: Wauganui, 357. Masterton (disqualified) 355. Petone, 317. New Plymouth, 306. Palmerston, 304. Woodville, 288. There was a great crowd at the Opera House, and the contest was a great success.
