HOKITIKA HORTICULTURAI SOCIETY.

The seventh annnual horticultural show and industrial exhibition, under the auspices of the Hokitika Horticultural and Poultry Society will be held at the Town Hall, Drill Shed and Horticultural Hall on Wednesday and Thursday, February 27th and 28th. The schedule for the exhibition is now in circulation. A very attractive list is set out. All the principal features of the former shows are retained, while novelties in new classes, and re-arrangements of old ones have been introduced. There are seven sections in all embracing 217 classes. Thejfirst section is devoted to pot grown plants for which 39 classes are provided. In cut flowers there are 51 classes, seven of

which are devoted to a novice sub-sec-tion which should be provocative of healthy competition. Tbe third _ classfruit—has 22 classes reserved for it, while vegetable's are well pro< '. led for with some 40 classes. There are 86 classes for produce and 26 for miscellaneous, half of which is devoted to a juvenile sub-section. In addition there are classes for exhibits of New Zealand manufacture, a hobby class and a gift class, in which all exhibits become the property of the Society, the proceeds of their sale going to the general funds. The awards are on the scale of previous years, and tho total aggregates a considerable sum.
