THE LEVIATHAN COMPANY.
With regard to the dispute about the tables the Dunedin Star says:—"With regard to the alterations of tables on the Leviathan dredge the secretary reports ! that Mr Magnus took down the tables 1 without giving them any intimation that he intended doing so. The tables, the secretary states, were doing their work fairly well, and should not have been taken down. Some alterations were necessary, howover, and thoso could have been made at little expense, and without stopping the dredge for any length of time. Mr Magnus had the tables re-erected on one side when ho left, and Mr Andrew M'Kay, who has been appointed local director, tosh charge of the erecting of tables on the other side, and a wire from him yesterday said : "Additional tables started and working well." Word has also been received from Mr M'Kay that the elevator, which had been giving trouble, is now working satisfactorily. The engineer has not succeeded in getting the engine to drive at the proper speed, but the difficulty is expected to be soon overcome.
