Messrs G. W, Moss and Co. report yesterday’s sales at Preston Yards as follows: —• The entity consisted of 31 bullocks exship, 37 from Hokitika and Grey Valley Districts. 430 sheep were yarded, the hulk from the North Island. A number of cattle and sheep were withdrawn, the entry (especially sheep) being in excess <. of requirements. We sold the following stock;— Pat Cattle —On account of Mr John M'Gregor, 31 head from £8 15s to £lO 15s ; 7 light-weight heifers on account of Mr William Craig, from £3 15s to £0 10s; 3 cows for clients, £5 12s Gd to £ls 7s Gd. Fat Sheep—l7o - heavy-weight ewes and wethers on account of Mr John M'Gregor, from ISs 3d to 21s 3d. Fat Lambs —28 on account of Mr W. J. Coates, 13s; 6 on account of Mr Guy, 13s Gd ; 14 on account of Mr Gilliyard, 11s 9d. Pigs—l 4 for clients from Cl 17s Gd to £2 12s Gd ; G stores at 11s. We also sold 1 medium draught horse, 3 years old. on account of Mr Jacobs at £2O.
Mark Sprot and Co. report their sale at Preston Road yesterday : -The entry consisted of 31 cattle ex-ship, 37 local and about 450 sheep. The supply was in excess of requirements and about 15 cattle were left unsold. Current rates were well maintained. Wo sold on account of Mr H. Dicdrichs, 15 bullocks from £9 5s to £9 17s 0d ; 9 heifers from £6 10j to £4 2s (Id. Fat sheep—On account of Messrs Abraham and Williams, 150 at 20s Gd for wethers and maiden ewes, 18s Gd aged ewes.
