THE GOLDEN BAY ARGUS (FIAT JUSTITIA, RUAT CŒLUM.) FRIDAY, JANUARY 25th, 1894. TAKAKA A. & P. SHOW.

. Judging from present appearances, tlio success which attended the mahgdrtftion of this Show last year prqmises J to bo eclipsed bj 7 that of the second annual event which takes place on Friday next, Ist February. The settlers of the sister Valley are apparently alive to the importance of maintaining such a useful institution in their midst, and consequently the support accorded to it is universal. Wo feel confident that the farmers of this district will not be backward in taking advantage of the opportunity given them by their Takaka friends by being pressnt in large numbers to inspect the collection of everything of the best the district can produce, and will as far as possible enter into competition with them in many classes of exhibits': -' - ■ - We learn from our Takaka' contemporary that the entries of 1 every l class' : of exhibits are already very humeroisq that special prizes continue to ' come freely; that the Committee have-made the most complete arrangements for the reception and convonifence' of both exhibits and visitors ; that there will be a - Ball in' the evening of the Show and that two excursion steamers intend to ; run between Nelson, and Takaka on Show Day. ' For those from this district who propose to attend'the 'Show the tides are eminently suitable, Enabling riders and those in vehicles to leave • home after breakfast in the morning and return in the evening after the Show. While on this subject, we may mention that ft is projected to formally open the Paine’s Ford Bridge, which is just about completed, on the day after the Show. Mr R. McKenzie. M.H.R., will be in the district on that day, and it is probable he will be asked to perform the opening ceremony.
