DESTROYED BY FIRE POLICE INVESTIGATING (Per Press Association) Christchurch, Jan. 31 The anglican parish church of St. James at Southbridge was totally destroyed by fire at daybreak today. When the outbreak was discovered, the flames were far beyond control and nothing could he saved. The police are investigating the outbreak, which it i s thought, may be of incendiary origin. The insurances were £(>7s on the church, £IOO on the furnishings and £75 on the organ, all with the church property trustees.
