WAIHI CAGE ACCIDENT DAMAGES AW A ItDED W aiiii, Noxomber 29 Nine of the 13 men who were injured when the ease at No. 2 shaft in which they were being lowered to work in the Waihi mine on July 26, broke away and fell more than 1000 feet claimed in special and general damages more than £4OOO .from the Waihi Gold .Mining Company in the Waihi W anion’s Court yesterday. Tile case was heard by Air F. W. Platts, S.M.. warden, and five assessors. The assessors allocated the following amounts to the injured men, the awards in all cases being below the amounts elaime l : Arnold £‘2o3, S. Kolias, £lB3. lvomp £258, Shergold £221, Johnson £205, Thornton £lB3, F. K. Cornos £4lB, H. G. Cornes £383. Coward £452.
