CO-OPEKATIOX ESSENTIAL QUESTION OF NOTE ISSUE (Per Press Association). Wellington, Sept. 25 The success of a central bank will depend on the co-operation of all interests, said the Minister of Finance, lion. J. (i. Coates, when questioned in the House this afternoon in reference to a published statement by the general manager of the Rank of New Zealand. Sir Henry Buckleton, criticising certain aspects of the reserve hank proposals. The issue of notes was only one aspect of the activties of a central bank, and was becoming a decreasingly important side. The implication of his statements would he seen when the Reserve Bank Bill was brought before the House.
