APARTMENT SUICIDE
SHOT HEARD BY TELEPHONE (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) New York, Sept. 14 B. Bernard Butterfield, aged 26. the local commercial agent of Reuters, Limited, committed suicide in his apartment to-day. He telephoned bis assistant. Allen Trower at Routers’ office and said : • Will you please bold the line a minute?” Mr. Trower heard a detonation and hurried, to Mr. Butterfield’s apartment. where lie found the latter had shot hims/if through the mouth with a sliotfniu.
