EX KING'S BONDS

BFIT AGAINST SPANISH BANK WINS CASE ON APPEAR (Aust. and N.Z. Cable* London, Ani’il H Ex-King Alfonso of Spain won an appeal concerning bonds valued at £11,200, including FJnglish victory, bonds, which he originally deposited with the Westminster Bank s head office and later transferred to. the Banco do Vizcaya working in association with the Westminster Bank. Ex-King Alfonso after the revolution asked for the delivery of the bonds from the Westminster Bank, which the Banco de Vizcaya refused on the ground that the Spanish Republic confiscated the King’s property. The Court of Appeal ruled that the question of confiscation did not arise. The only issue was whether the Banco de Vizcaya or ex-King Alfonso was entitled to the securities.
