The Feilding Star Oroua and Kiwitea Counties’ Gazette WEDNESDY, APRIL 12, 1933 JEAN BATTEN'S FLIGHT
If there is anything- special doing in the world, a New Zealander is sure to be in the midst of the excitement. There is one of him in that cause celebre in Alo-scow as chief engineer for the Vickers Co., Air Alonkhouse, and there is one of her now on a flight from England to Australia, Miss Jean Batten of Auckland. Her task is more exacting than Army John-ston-—she is flying in an English machine with an English engine in an effort; to beat an
ace from Italy in an Italian machine.
