MEETING OF COMMITTEE SWIMMING BATHS At the Lett on Street School Committee’s meeting, Air J. Penney presiding, the report of tile lieadmaster fAlr W. C. Wilson) stated that the roll was being well maintained and that staffing arrangements were entirely satisfactory. Further consideration was given the question of erecting a school swimming baths and it was agreed that tho new committee should take the question up. Tho chairman stated that, he was impressed with the idea of the school possessing swimming facilities, but understood that there were difficulties iu tie way of constructing a. baths on ".he school property. It. was likeiy that the school might able to oTiter into a satisfactory arrangement, with the High School authorities for the use of the. High School baths. Mr Penney announced that he had been able to secure a grant from the Wanganui Education Board to enable repairs to be carried out to the school boundary fence, which urgently needed attention. The propercy owner adjoining had offered to contribute a. sum towards the cost of the board and had now agreed to find the balance.
