Cable) (Received April IU, 2 p.m.) Perth, April 10 By a two to one majority the TVest Australians voted in favour of secession from the Commonwealth. On the other hand, the Nationalist Party, which had led the secession campaign, was defeated and the Labour Party was returned to power with a su list a ntial ma jority. The voting was as follows: For secession. Oil,911(1, ag'ainsl, dti, OTL For a convention 42,475, against 56,228. IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA Adelaide, April 10 The probable composition ol the new House will be as follows: Liberal and Country Party 28, 1 \'n rljiam ent ary Labour Party 4, Australian Labour Party 7, Lang- Labour Party 5. Single Tax Party 2, Independents 2. Only about 50 per cent of tinpeople exercised their franchise ! and of these about 5 per cent. ! recorded informal votes.
