PARLIAMENT CLOSES
Work of Session OVER FIFTY MEASURES POULTRY BILL’S FATE (Ter I'rcSH association) Wellington, March 10 Parliament ended its session at 7.10 o’clock to-night. According to a return furnished by Air Speaker, before thi House lose for the recess a total of 51 Government Bills received the Royal Assent during the session, and 37 Bills were dropped or otherwise disposed of. The session lasted 170 days, with an adjournment from December 9 to January 20. The House sat. on 71 days, the total number of hours being 455, th average daily sitting lasting six and a half hours. To do its business the House divided 100 times, and of the divisions 128 were taken in committee. Among the Bills dropped or otherwise disposed of the mos important were the Apprentices the Building Construction, t 1 Electoral Amendment, providing for four-year Parliaments the Government Superannuatin' Funds, the Municipal Corporations Consolidation and Amendment, the Reserve Bank of NV /'■aland, and the Stock Remedies. The passage of tlie Ron 1 * Amendment Bill, through Pa Lament came to an abrupt end in tlie Legislative Couueil ye terday afternoon when, aft' the second leading motion hbeen moved, Sir Francis V moved and secured appro'for th*' adjournment of lhe debate. This meant that the R had been “killed ’’ for it cp”’ not be reported back to +’ Lower House before the f adjournment. It is likel.v, liw' ever, that the Government wil 1 bring it forward again nexf session.
