STRUCK BY TRUCK
CYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED EARLY MORN INO INCI DENT (Pet t ress Association.) Auckland, Jan. 13. Grave* injuries to the head, ineluding a fracture of the skull, were received hy James Arkhurst. 2d. of I’ukeKohe East as the result of being knocked from his bicycle* by a motor truck on the Great South Road at Takanini early this morning. Mi*/ Arkhurst, who is employed as an operator in a. picture theatre in the-eitj;, was ri ling along the Great South road toward Papakura about 1 o'clock when In* was overtaken by a truck driven by M. H. Alexander of Clevedoii.. The truck collided with tin* cycle from the back, and Mr Arkhurst; was thrown lieav- ’ ily.
