Samuel Furnace, TO, was discovered staying in a house at Southend and was taken into custody on a charge of the murder of an insurance agont*. This bald statement ends one of the most interesting man hunts in tjhe history of crime in England. 1 Urhace had not disguised himself at all and did not resist when apprehended. When the police entered the house he was sitting before the fire, his reluctance to leave which was ascribed to illness liv hi« aged landlady.
