REVIEW OF YEAR’S TRADE FAVOURARLE BALANCE SHOWN In a review of the Limber tinde of the Dominion for the past year the Commissioner of Sit ate Forests (the Hen. E. A. Ransom) said that; for the first time since 1923 the foreign timber trade wa® in. favour of New Zealand, the Customs figures- for th& flrgL ten months of 1932 showing a favourable trade balance of 17,277,000 feet b-.m. (£147,570), compared with niii adverse balance of 2,886,000 leer h.m. (£50;590) for the fi!rsii ten months of 1931 n'nkl an average adverse balance of 2-5,965,000 feet h.m. (£-357,600) for the eor r esp o-ri ding period in the years 1928 to 1030'.
