Keen Competition WITH BIG CLEARANCE BRICES MAINTAINED (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) Sydney. January 19 At the wool sales to-day 1‘9.003 bales were offered, of which 10.87-1 were sold at auction, as well as 100 G which were disposed of privately. The weekly auctions closed under very spirited competition, values being firmly maintained. Finer quality wools were in keen demand, even Australian buyers bhidin'- strongly. Greasy merino sold to 191 d.
