PAI.MEHSTON CONTEST IN DitILL ITAI.L Aviation being the general vogue and model aeroplaning a special enthusiasm in Feilding. it was not surprising that there was keen interest shown in the contest field last nigfit in tlie Drill Mali (let ween the Fell fling and Palmerston Model Aeroplane ('lufis. There was quite a crowd of spectators in tlie gallery, iiieluding several ladies, and the small fioys were vociferous in tlie expression of their appreciation of the whole work done by the models made fiy the competitors. There was tt marked difference in favour of Feifiling in the quality of the miniature planes in tlio contest. Some of them looked 'very much like white' butterflies. Mr. Holiday exhibited a freak machine that did some amazing stunts, some of which aroused smiles and laughter. Feilding won the contest with a total of 24min. 24secs., compared with Palmerston's oinin 4S .‘i-useos. Tlie fliers scored as follows in the three flights.— Feilding.—A. Ilohday 3.44 3-5. A.
