.. THE WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MOTHERS’ AND CHILDRENS’ PICNIC Colyton’s Institute certainly could not have chosen a more delightful day that it. had on Tuesday for Mother:;* and Children’s Day, which took the form of a picnic. Amid ideal surrounding the afternoon proved an enjoyable one. Visitors were present from the AYaiatn Institute. Ajadogies were received from other expected guests. Tim afternoon passed speedily away, intersiiersed with swimming races, games and sweet scrambles for the children. An enjoyable afternoon tea was passed round by tile committee, who acted as hostesses, assisted by a willing mimlier of helpers. Special thanks to the Hocken family are due for the provision of hot water and use of tlieir property. The picinie party began to turn lomewards about 5.30 p.m. It was decided that there should not Ih' a Colytou meeting until the annual meeting in March, as there is t<, lie a group afternoon on the third Wednesday in February. Further details regarding the same will be available from tin* secretary. The hostesses for tile March meeting are Mesdames Hall and Iloeken. and Misses If. Hansen and 11. Hocked.
