A Sydney cable message records the death of Judge Scholcs, aged 74 years. Mrs F. T. Redmond, sister of Mr •1. K. Hornblow, of Foxton, died at the home of her son in Hastings this morning, aged 6q years. She leaves two sons and a daughter. Basil Jackson, a former dux of Manchester street school, whose father was headmaster here, gained a lull pass in the Training College entrance examination. Mr M. C. McC.rfgor, the well known pilot, and a son of Mrs Kweii McGregor, qf Hamilton, who was injured in a ’plane crash at Palmerston recently, is making good progress. Complications which set in have cleared up, and though Mr McGregor will have to be in hospital for a considerable time the doctors are hopeful that he will make a complete recovery.
