TWO MEN WAYLAY THIRD POLICEMAN’S BATON EFFECTIVE Press Association). A uckla nd, Jan. 12 At 11.45 last night a young man, Erie Oliver, was assaulted and robbed by two men in Myers Park. Constable Massey heard voices comimr from the direction of tin convenience at the lower end ol the park and flashing his torch along the side of the convenience he saw three men struggling on the ground. Two of the men were punching the third with their fists. When the two men saw the constable both stood up and attempted to escape. Constahb Massey then drew his baton and struck one of the men across th forehead. He staggered and feV to the ground and the consthbL caught hold of the other mar who after a sliuggle said lie would go quicilV. To-dav Claude Miller. 21 and Leslie Walding. 24. a haw ker. appeared before Air Hunt R.M. A remand was granted haf] being refused.
